Private Life (1982)

About the spiritual desolation of a workaholic factory executive who is suddenly replaced by a former protege when his factory is combined with another, and who is then forced to retire. This leads him to reacquaint himself with the members of his extended family, and to resume the routine of the title, which he initially finds very difficult. Sergei Abrikosov (Mikhail Ulyanov) successively encounters the various relatives who share the large, gloomy Moscow apartment that one character deems "a palace". Sergei has been so occupied with his career that he has quite forgotten how to get along with any of these people...
