Lee Leander (Stanwyck) is a pretty shoplifter on trial for swiping an expensive bracelet from a local jewellery store. When her trial is postponed until after New Year, the sympathetic Assistant District Attorney John Sargent (MacMurray) bails her out of jail. When he invites her to his family's home for the holidays, she discovers the warmth and love she's never had but always wanted. Not Double Indemnity. - Remember the Night review by BM
An improbable story well constructed making an entertaining film. Stanwyke and MacMurray are good together and this time a happy ending for them. I had my doubts having never heard of this film but glad I put it on my list.

A pleasant romcom but it sometimes feels like the Hays Code is getting in the way of satisfying storytelling.
