Jon Voight, Barbara Hershey, Rick Schroder and Oliver Reed lead a highly acclaimed cast in the continuing saga which captured the spirit of the Old West. After returning the body of Gus McCrae to Lonesome Dove, Woodrow Calls sets about driving a herd of wild mustang 2500 miles north to the Hat Creek Ranch in Montana. From Indian battles and deadly gunfights, to broken hearts and broken dreams it is a daring drive which is filled with tragedy, triumph, despair and deceit.
Enjoyable, though not as good as the original.

This is a decent follow up to the original 'Lonesome Dove' mini-series, though it's sadly missing the near on all the original series cast with only Ricky Schroder and a few supporting actors returning to the sequel. Jon Voight is re-cast as Woodrow Call, though he's a poor replacement for Tommy Lee Jones, and while the story is fairly enjoyable it lacks the epic quality of the original.
