Collection of performances of works by Richard Strauss and Gustav Mahler conducted by Michael Tilson Thomas, Hartmut Haenchen, Kurt Sanderling and Erich Leinsdorf. The works included are: Strauss's 'Till Eulenspiegel' and 'Ein Heldenleben' and Mahler's 'Das Lied von der Erde' and his Symphonies Nos. 1, 5 and 6. Schumann's Symphony No. 4 also features.
