Venice
Rick's journey begins in the magnificent city of Venice and he is inspired to cook Seafood Risotto, Tiramisu and Gnocchi with Spider Crab.
Croatia
A trip across the Adriatic Sea to Croatia - a first for Rick - and a chance to discover new dishes like Lamb Peka.
Albania
Rick continues his Byzantine odyssey through Croatia and Albania cooking traditional Albanian dishes like Lepur Comlek and Tave Cosi.
Northern GreeceRick's journey brings him to loannina where he tastes a traditional Veal Stifado and Kotopita - the best Chicken Pie he's ever tasted.
Peloponnese
Rick arrives in the Greek Peloponnese and samples memorable dishes like Rooster Stew Hilopites with Mizithra Cheese.
Western Turkey
On the Cesme Peninsula Rick enjoys creamy Armola cheese matured in goat skins, Urla's famous red wine and the ultimate Turkish breakfast.
Istanbul

A very enjoyable series. - Rick Stein: From Venice to Istanbul review by Maureen
As ever, Rick Stein makes a very enjoyable travelling companion. He not only enjoys food, especially fish, but always enjoys meeting the people who cook it for the delight of their customers. Other than Albania, still relatively unknown, this trip took in places many of us have visited and enjoyed, such as Venice, Istanbul, Split and many places in Greece. He is always enthusiastic and will suddenly exclaim to a restaurateur "I do like you", so it makes it very personal. The production team also go to a lot of trouble in finding interesting and very individual restaurants, often, as in Albania, in really out-of-the-way spots. Do find us some Rick Stein journeys.
