Shipwrecked on the tropical island of Zanzibar, the Rough Scientists put their skills to the test. How useful is science outside the lab? Without the help of modern technology, can they build an underwater spy plane to explore a shipwreck? Lost at sea: How to create a distress flare, a life jacket and a beacon. Zanzibar is teeming with life. But the island is also home to some less desirable wildlife, so the team need to make a mosquito repellent. Zanzibar lies at the heart of a busy shipping lane, but boats sailing these waters cannot see the treacherous reefs that lie below. Can the team create a lighthouse to warn unsuspecting sailors? A Coral Reef is off the shore of Zanzibar. The team need to invent a system to alert boats that they are entering a protected area. The unusual solution is possibly the world s first coral reef burglar alarm! The team then try to build an underwater breathing device for presenter Kate Humble. It needs to be sophisticated enough for her to have the freedom to explore beneath the waves and survive the pressure of the ocean above her. - Actors:
