- Reporter Grace Collier (Sevigny) is determined to unearth the secrets of Dr. Lacan (Rea) and his Zurvan Clinic- a sprawling estate on the outskirts of the city that is home to a treatment centre for severely disturbed children. However, there is something sinister beneath the clinic's benign surface as several patients have mysteriously died. Is Dr. Lacan experimenting on these children? Is his hauntingly lovely but unstable assistant Angelique ( Lou Doillon ) the grown-up product of one of these experiments? As Grace strives to find the truth she plunges deeper into a dangerous web of deceit and heads towards a shocking climax that may threaten her sanity...and her life.
