Fairly decent sci-fi drama, but very slow moving. - Taken review by CP Customer

Spoiler Alert

Taken follows the lives of three interconnected families from the tail end of WW2 to the present day, and the part alien abductions have played in their lives. It's a fairly decent mini series which manages to combine a mix of human interest drama and sci-fi. My only criticisms are that both the special effects and quality of acting are a bit hit and miss, at times the story plods along at an incredibly slow pace, and with a total running time of nearly 15 hours you get the feeling that the storyline was dragged out for twice as long as it need have been. Despite its downsides 'Taken' is decent enough viewing, not something I would go out of my way to watch again, but if you're running low on rental titles for your wish list it's something to stick on there for a rainy weekend or two.
