Synopsis:
From the people who brought you Anchorman and The 40 Year Old Virgin comes this hilarious fast-paced comedy starring Will Ferrell as Ricky Bobby - one of the greatest drivers in NASCAR history. Ricky has everything a racing sensation and national hero could wish for: a luxurious mansion, a smokin' hot wife (Leslie Bibb) and a loyal racing partner, childhood friend Cal Naughton, Jr. But flamboyant French Formula One driver Jean Girard is about to wreck Ricky's world and challenge for the supremacy of NASCAR. Now Ricky must face his demons and kick some serious asphalt if he's to get his career back on the track, beat Girard and reclaim his fame and fortune.
'Cause as Ricky Bobby always says, IF YOU AIN'T FIRST, YOU'RE LAST!

Juvenile humour - Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby review by CP Customer

Spoiler Alert
19/04/2007

There were some truly funny moments but a lot of the humour is very juvenile, which is OK if you've had a bit to drink and aren't really looking for a quality piece of film making. Some of the jokes are thrashed to death as well so they get a bit tiresome and you find yourself wishing they would just move on. Many of the jokes seem to be aimed at the French and Sacha Baron Cohen adds to this with his gloriously silly French accent as Ricky Bobby's NASCAR rival. The film is at its funniest when ridiculing the prejudice of the 'red neck' population.

Funny! - Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby review by CP Customer

I agree with the first review, some very very funny moments, but after you have laughed the first time, it is not quite as funny when the same gag is shown later in the film. If you like Will Ferrell, as I do, then you will love it. My boyfriend doesn't like him, so was less impressed!!!

Slow start but gets funnier - Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby review by CD

I almost gave up on this film after 30 minutes. What improved it was the entry of Sasha Cohen; also it is enlivened by Ricky Bobby’s dad in the film and the sharp and funny dialogue from Ricky’s children.  Not nearly as fun as some other Will Ferrell films, this is still worth a watch for a few of the gags in the second half.
