Synopsis:
This stunning movie event is a thrilling magic carpet ride through the social upheavals and popular culture of the turbulent Seventies, as seen through the eyes of four very different friends, who come of age as the world changes around them. From the producer of Edward Scissorhands and Batman Returns and starring Brad Lowe (Wasteland), Vinessa Shaw (Eyes Wide Shut), Amy Smart (Varsity Blues) and Guy Torry (American History X), this compelling films weaves together actual news footage with fiction and a fantastic soundtrack of the original hits of the day.
This was the drama-packed decade that began with the National Guard killing students at Kent State and ended with the election ol Ronald Reagan. In between came Nixon and the Watergate scandal, the end of the Vietnam war, the rise of Women's Lib, Rlack Power and the sexual liberation of The Pill, together with mad religious cults, ecological pollution...and disco! The story dramatically unfolds the fears and hopes of ordinary people as the decade progresses, bringing to life their tears of turmoil and heart stirring triumphs.
