Carlos "The Jackal" is the most heinous terrorist the world has ever known. He has been sought by the governments of the United States and Israel for two decades, escaping each time they come close to capturing him. When CIA master spy Jack Shaw (Donald Sutherland) and his Israeli counterpart, Amos (Ben Kingsley), discover that American naval officer Annibal Ramirez (Aidan Quinn) is a dead ringer for the terrorist, they devise a chilling plan to draw Carlos out of hiding, and into an elaborate trap. But first, Annibal must 'become' Carlos by ridding himself of love for humankind and learn to murder without hesitation. Great action sequences - The Assignment review by JD
The way that Quin turns from loathing to loving Kingsley is predictable protracted and unconvincing. That aside brilliant acting by Kingsley and action sequences that distract you from breathing. The plot is good and requires no suppression of disbelief but quick enough to enthrall.
