- The Guillotines, a secret death squad armed with their infamous weapon of the same name, are a merciless killing force under the protection of ruthless Emperor, Yong Zheng. Loyally serving the Qing dynasty, they set out on a deadly mission to assassinate the charismatic leader of a powerful rebel force. Amateurish nonsense - The Guillotines review by Alphaville
Don’t laugh, but the Guillotines of the title are Qing dynasty swordsmen sent to crush rebellious Herders. Yes, it’s all nonsense and impossible to care about. Even worse, the amateurish direction is coupled with fight scenes ruined by awful camerawork and fast-edited into a visual mishmash.
