- Synopsis:
- Lucrecia Martel is now recognised as one of the leading new film-makers in the world. This mystery is her third feature, and was released to huge acclaim. Driving in the country Veronica is distracted and apparently hits something. Disturbed, she does not investigate but drives off. After the accident she becomes disconnected from her daily life. She Eventually tells her husband - they return to the scene and only find a dead dog. But then news emerges that a child has disappeared. Her family joins to erase all traces of the accident ever having occurred.

Disturbing but brilliant - The Headless Woman review by CP Customer
This is film about guilt and denial, leading to a cover up, but what has she hit? The scenery is bleak but beautifully filmed. This is a very watchable film.

Too slow and too much interiority - The Headless Woman review by EA
While this film's premise is intriguing, the execution is too slow, with an almost mute main character. Most conclusions are hinted at -which is an interesting technique but doesnt work here because there is too interiority and not enough action so the sequences are confusing.
