Synopsis:
When Antonia's husband dies in a car accident, she is stricken with grief. Whilst sorting through his possessions, she finds a love poem inscribed on the back of a painting that holds the key to a secret world. She discovers that she has been the innocent partner in an emotionally complex, yet tender and delicate love triangle. Through her loss she uncovers another world that her husband inhabited that ran parallel to the life she had with him. For seven years he had been having an affair with a man, Michele. From her initial confrontation with Michele, the bereaved pair experience phases of animosity, curiosity, attraction and passionately shared emotions.
This is a genuine story of human spirit and raw honesty.

Ignorant Fairies - The Ignorant Fairies review by CP Customer

is the title of a painting given to Antonia after her husband's dead. On the backside she discovers a dedication from the lover of Massimo - an affair going on for 7 years, it seems. She traces the painting, but it takes long before it dawns on her that the lover is a man not a woman. So she meets Michele and little by little they get closer in their common love for Massimo and the same Turkish poem. She also meets the "extended family" e.g. a handsome young man with AIDS who has almost given up life, played by a former Mister Italy. This movie has some similarities to "Hamam" from the same director showing us that love can have many faces. For this it's worth watching.
