Synopsis:
On December 15th 1995 a four-man team from the cable-access program Fact or Fiction braved the desolate New Jersey Pine Barrens determined to deliver a live broadcast of the legendary monster The Jersey Devil. Only one came out alive. It took the jury 90 minutes to sentence the lone survivor to life in prison. One year later filmmaker David Leigh (David Beard) decided to mount his own investigation. Convinced that the man convicted of these terrible crimes was innocent, Leigh proposes the murders were committed by someone - or something - else. Could the Jersey Devil still haunt the barrens?

If You Go Down To The Woods - The Last Broadcast review by CP Customer

Spoiler Alert
30/12/2009

The Last Broadcast shares many similarities with the Blair Witch Project; both films share a low budget, amateur style and each arrived within close proximity of one another. However Blair is far more successful, and not only financially. The Last Broadcast focuses on who committed the murders and the ongoing mystery following the crime. Blair successfully placed you in the footsteps of the team within the woods, experiencing fear of the unknown. Last Broadcast certainly looks cheap and the attempts at characterisation or narrative are badly executed. The final few scenes feel like a convenient ending that undermines everything that has went on before. The film remains an interesting oddity and like the Blair Witch, very influential without actually being very good.
