Synopsis:
Documentary exploring the history of the Mikoyan Design Bureau whose MiG planes were made famous during the Cold War. Directed by Nick Elborough and narrated by Robert Ashby, the documentary takes a close look at planes including the MiG-9, the company's first jet fighter,and the MiG-17, which was capable of flying at supersonic speeds. The capabilities of the MiG are placed in context by an analysis of how other nations reacted to the planes, including the US military's shock at the effectiveness of the MiG-15 during the Korean War.
