Synopsis:
Four backpackers set out for a week cruising the beautiful great barrier reef on their own Yacht. When their boat capsizes leaving them stranded on the overturned hull they must make a simple choice... stay with a damaged ship, likely to sink at any moment or try to swim for dry land? Taking to the water the group starts to close in on land but when a giant fin breaks the surface they are hit with the realization that they are being stalked by a deadly fourteen-foot white pointer shark. Will any of them make the swim or will the sea just take what it wants?

Surprisingly gripping - The Reef review by JD

Based on a true story always gives a film the edge. There is quite a lot of romantic plot which is a little irrelevant, not interesting and doesn't add much to the tension. The plot is very simple, but the direction is good, tension mounting slowly throughout and the emotions of each character easily appeciated. I was genuinely in extreme suspense.

I wasn’t expecting much from this but it’s a taut thriller which is, in my opinion, close to being the number one shark film (after JAWS obviously). Even the trailer has got me tense again. Don’t watch it if you’re planning to go diving any time soon.
