- Action-packed comedy based on the professional American football players' strike in the '80s. Keanu Reeves plays Shane Falco, a has-been quarterback who is the key to the success of the team of misfits assembled by veteran coach Jimmy McGinty (Gene Hackman) to fill in for the striking pro players. Rhys Ifans is also selected for the team and puts in a performance as a beer-swilling, nicotine-wired kicker! Together they become 'The Replacements', with sultry support provided by cheerleader Annabelle Farrell and her ex-stripper squad.
