- The Royle Family is a classic British Sitcom about the Royle Family, a family living in Manchester living off state benefits who spend almost all their time sat in front of the television watching anything that doesn’t involve doing anything. Starring Ricky Tomlinson and Sue Johnston, the series is a satire of modern England and the families that inhabit it and each episode usually involves the 6 members of the family sitting around talking about inconsequential things they have heard or happened to them, something that seems unlikely due to the fact they never leave the house.
