A Technicolor gem based on the James Thurber novel that stands as Danny Kaye's single most memorable film showcase. Walter Mitty, the bashful, hen-pecked protagonist played by Kaye, is a mild-mannered magazine editor who escapes from his dull, dreary reality in daydreams where he incarnates various swashbuckling heroes (including an RAF fighter ace, a brave sea captain, a riverboat gambler, a virtuosic surgeon) who come to life in spectacular sequences.
