- The Stepfather Is the chilling tale of a congenial family man (Terry O'Quinn) whose engaging smile and staid demeanour mask a deep-seated dementia. His obsessive desire to live the ideal family life has ultimately led to the family's very destruction. And now, having eluded police and taken on a new identity as Jerry Blake, he has another chance with another family. Innocently caught in the Stepfather's web are his new wife Susan (Shelley Hack) and his rebellious teenage stepdaughter Stephanie (Jill Schoelen).

Don't Step On This Father's Toes - The Stepfather review by Spoons
Saw this when first released back in the 80's. Terry O'Quinn gives a chilling performance as the psychotic stepfather and the supporting cast are also good. I would say that it's slightly better than the remake and it still holds up well today. The only thing that really dates it is the score, which really is typically eighties. Enjoyable.
