A totally unique film history of Liverpool in the 20th Century, it sweeps from the Edwardian age through to the 1950s and brilliantly captures the changing streets, docks and landmarks of the city. Here the people of Liverpool, captured at work and at play, against the backdrop of an ever-changing city. Rare film records the giant pageant in Wavertree Park in 1907, shire horses on display in a bygone May Day Parade and a police parade in Sefton Park along with numerous royal visits and other special moments. Liverpool endured two world wars, which would help to change it forever. The cameras recorded Liverpool men marching off to fight in the Great War, as well as the contribution made by the city’s docks and the men of the convoys in the Second World War.
