Synopsis:
For more than 50 years, Peter Brook has been a tidal force in theatre. His world famous productions of Shakespeare and Marat-Sade at the Royal Shakespeare Company, his work as a film director, and his book 'The Empty Stage' reflect a new vision of art free from conventions. This release features two productions: 'The Tragedy of Hamlet', in which Brook reunites a remarkable cast of international actors in a production that renews the approach to the main character and ingeniously gives birth to a Hamlet who is troubled, sensible, powerful and violent. 'Brook By Brook' is a revealing and intimate film about Peter Brook by his own son, Simon.
The documentary offers a privileged view into the world of his family, theatre and films in a collective father/son journey that is revealing, personal and ultimately very moving.
