- Brad Pitt picks up a sword and brings a muscular, brooding presence the role of Greek warrior Achilles in this spectacular retelling of The Iliad. Historical epic - Troy review by CP Customer
A stellar cast with dazzling sets and costumes. The battle sequences are stunning and there are particularly good performances from Peter O'Toole as the King and Eric Bana as his heroic son. I thought Brad Pitt carried off the role of Achilles well but many I have spoken to thought he was wooden. Not as good as Gladiator, but in a similar vein.

Epic Viewing - Troy review by CD
The best bits of this film are superb - the sight of the Greek ships in the Aegean, the amazing battle scenes, the attempts to recreate ancient Troy. The cast is very strong but inevitably the dialogue is limited and you feel many of the actors’ talents are a bit wasted. Brad Pitt and Peter O’Toole stand out. Well worth a watch but be ready to skip a few scenes.
