The series follows the fortunes of rock and roll band The Majestics – Scotland's very own heroes of the 1960s beat boom – who re-group to play a 25th anniversary tour, despite the untimely death of lead singer Jazza McGlone in a freak car crash. Band manager Eddie Clockerty recruits Jazza’s less-than-enthusiastic younger brother Danny in his place, ensuring more discord within a band already awash with clashing personalities and the tensions of being on the road.

Coltrane is always good value, Thompson and Wilson should make this a gas, but it didn't do it for me. I found it a bit slow and inconsequencial. The plot is slow, the photography indifferent, the whole thing lacks interest. Don't get me wrong, it is not bad, the characters are great and brilliantly played, the interactions are interesting, but I couldn't sustain motivation and didn't watch disc 2.
