Synopsis:
Climber, naturalist and explorer Tom Weir has enthralled television audiences for more than a decade. Weir's Way effortlessly translates Tom's enthusiasm and passion for walking, the countryside and Scotland's history, inspiring many others to explore their surroundings. Tom follows in the footsteps of Bonnie Prince Charlie in The Rough Bounds. Starting at Culloden he traces the path Charles Edward Stuart took after his defeat by the Duke of Cumberland. Tom continues on the journey in The Seven Men starting at Mallaig overlooking Loch Morar, Scotland's deepest Ioch. In the final film Tom takes to the sky in a hot air balloon to explore the immense Loch Lomond.
Only from the air can the sheer scale of the largest single inland waterway in Britain be appreciated. Back down on earth Tom meets the local inhabitants and uncovers some of the history of the Ioch.
