- Synopsis:
- John Savage plays Dr Lazarre, a deeply troubled psychiatrist who tumbles into an abyss of drink and despair after his wife dies in a car accident. His second wife and his best friend have him committed to a rehab clinic operated by the mysterious Dr Renquist (Malcolm McDowell) and his sinister nurse (Kim Cattrall). That's when Lazarre's troubles really begin as he tries to cope with ever-increasing doses of an experimental drug spawning nightmarish visions of an executed serial killer and habitual beatings by a sadistic orderly.
