- This is the story of Zarafa - an orphan giraffe intended as a gift to the King of France - and his friendship with a 10-year-old boy called Maki. The ruler of Egypt instructs the Prince of the Desert to deliver Zarafa to Paris, but Maki has made up his mind to do everything in his power to stop him from fulfilling his mission and bring Zarafa home - even if it means risking his life On a journey through sprawling deserts, bustling cities and snow-capped mountains, crossing paths with aviators and pirates, Maki and Zarafa have the adventure of a lifetime.
