Castle Rock: Series 1

Totally implausible

(Edit) 26/02/2020

I've no idea why the critics rated this so highly. Not only is the plot implausible, and the filming grim, but the constant time shifts make it very confusing. I usually don't mind time shifts, but combined with the other irritants, it was tedious. I've deleted the next 2 disks from my list.

Arctic

Edge of the seat tension

(Edit) 16/01/2020

Much more exciting than I expected. Excellent acting, realistic plot and beautiful scenery. I recommend this.

The Unraveling

Disappointing ending

(Edit) 07/03/2018

Reasonably enjoyable and slightly scary film, but honestly the ending is so banal, you feel you've been cheated. Don't waste your time on it!

Swiss Army Man

Quirky, hillarious, touching and memorable

(Edit) 04/07/2017

Thoughly recommend this very original film. You wouldn't think that a corpse would take much acting, but Daniel Radcliffe is brilliant, and Paul Dano is a believable character in a very strange situation.

The Headless Woman

Disturbing but brilliant

(Edit) 31/03/2015

This is film about guilt and denial, leading to a cover up, but what has she hit? The scenery is bleak but beautifully filmed. This is a very watchable film.

Lourdes

Miracles Expected?

(Edit) 31/03/2015

Slow moving but enthralling film. The main character and the other pilgrims are all well drawn and acted, but what are they expecting from the experience?
