That's a couple of hour I'll never get back. A low budget flick that really disappoints. What sounds like a promising scenario turns out with a lame script and ham acting. No real plot or dramatic tension whatsoever. Just cliches!

I love Timothy Spall and wanted to watch this after seeing him in the fascinating Mrs Lowry. But I'm afraid Turner was mighty disappointing. A lazy period piece where it seems they roles out all the cliches - it's all top hats and formulaic dialogue. No one really knows how they spoke back then, but even the guesswork is lazy and the director should have had more faith in the characters speaking real English. At least then they would be believable instead of cardboard cut-outs.
