Set in a shifting community of at the edge of Disneyland and the margins of society, this film offers a very funny but unsettling portrayal of life on the margins. What at first seems to be a fly-on-the-wall doc about irresponsible parenting and its impact on children, resolves eventually into an exploration of what contemporary, consumerist society is maybe headed for. The Florida setting is no accident, and the film asks the question - which is the greater illusion, Disneyland or the American dream. Great performances, especially from the children who are simply brilliant.
