This is an effective and exciting action horror with some intelligent points to make about social and emotional deprivation. Barely any of the characters are sympathetic but their motives and actions are intriguing nonetheless. It betrays its low budget at times with some dodgy CGI but overall, the make up effects are excellent. The acting is at best adequate but the direction and editing are above average. The directing team of Dahan and Rocher are the ones to watch for future projects.
For the first 40 minutes or so this is a suspenseful (and funny) horror pic. Unfortunately, the quality then drops dramatically as the film makers appear to run out of ideas and go for all-out gory slapstick. It's all a bit ramshackle and silly although the effects are pretty good. The acting is uneven as well - a few of them appear to take it seriously whilst the others just 'play act' their way through the mayhem. This is definitely post-pub bloke fare!
