The trailer for this gives completely the wrong impression of the film, which is probably why some people don't like it. It's sold as a Harry Potter-type adventure which it absolutely IS NOT, and it's not for little kids. It's a coming of age fantasy along the lines of A Monster Calls, Pan's Labyrinth or The Iron Giant. It's about loneliness, loss and teenage friendship, with a great central performance from Madison Wolfe. It's a wonderful film but don't watch it expecting to see little kids fight giants, because it's not that.
