Blindspot: Series 1

Best Way to Spend 40mins

(Edit) 30/05/2020

Have only just discovered Blindspot but have loved every episode of the first season. Sullivan Stapeloton has always been good at the strong, silent type with just an edge of vulnerablity and a quick smile and the ensamble cast as a whole have been really well cast. But it is Jamie Alexander that steals the scene and the show as Jane Doe. To mix the special forces training with the confusing and misunderstanding of where she comes from and who she is would be a diicult challenge but she is able to pull it off with wonderful style and charm.

Now it is not 24, which in my opion was the best thing ever but well worth a watch.

Each episode is only 40mins long and most epeisodes (but not all) are to do with Jane's tattooed body and what clues they give to current crimes. You can watch one episode very easily but one episode turns to two, turns to three so if time is precious be warned it is addictive.

Looking forwward to season 2.

The Last Ship: Series 2

Loads of Action

(Edit) 09/01/2019

Was hugly inpressed with season 1 and was quick to carry on. Only seen the fist disc of season 2 but if that is anything to go by it might be even better than season 1. So much action going on both on land and upon the Nathan James. All charcters from seanson 1 continue though there is a death early on, wont say who as fon't want ti give away spoilers. There are gun battlles, hand-to-hand comabt, missles being launched and even a secret sub. Clever, topical and makes you want to sign up!!!!!!

Can't wait for the rest of this series to arrive. There is 5 sesons in total and nearly £100 on a certain rainforest, so watch it this way and save up the pennies.

Jurassic Park

Wanted a bit more

(Edit) 07/01/2019

I never saw JP when it first came out but I still remember the hype. So some 25 years later (how is it that long) i decided to give it a watch. Now for years we have been spoilded with CGI and SFX and so perhaps i was asking a bit much of a 25year old film but it just didn't bowl me over. It, is probably more effective on the big screen and dolby surround sound etc. i just was waiting for a bit more; to come and give me a knock-out blow that never came. Good acting by all the cast espcially Sir Richard.

Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation

More of The Same

(Edit) 20/11/2018

Well, lets be honest it is more of the MI fayre. You got the stunts which all look good and repect to TC for still dong all his own stunts. Then you've got the comedy sidekick in the shape of Simon Pegg and useful cameo's from messer Rhames, Renner and Baldwin. Rebecca Ferguson is the "love" intrest in the movie and were just about plausable as British Secret Service.

Okay it is all quite unbelievable but somehow it still just seems to work and if you are looking for guns, bombs and Cruise you can't go far wrong. Not a bad way to pass a couple of hours.

Truth

Full Frontal

(Edit) 24/08/2018

The film is just an excuse to show full frontal views of naked men. Within the first 8 mins we have our first graphic gay sex scene. The film continues in the same vain and I gave up about 30mins in to the film.

I have nothing against gay themed films, I think the best fil of 2018 has been "Love, Simon" but this was just a porno dressed up as a film. Avoid if your time is valuable.

The Americans: Series 1

Slow going

(Edit) 10/08/2018

This is one of these things you need to stick with. It is not fast paced so if you are looking for action then this isn't the thing for you. Though it does include some action sequences it is much more about building tension so it is what was once called a "Pressure Cooker" series. Good performances by the lead cast and nothing wrong with the programme but is was slghtly confusing at times and I did find it to drag terribly in places. Also if you want to see spy living in surburbia but in a film form and in the UK have a look for Pack Of Lies.
