Wonder Woman
Better than average superhero(ine) flick
As with all superhero movies (or in this case, heroine) you watch knowing that they’re going to win the day and be nigh on invincible. However, the mere mortal heroes (particularly Chris Pine) add that sense of unknown outcomes. Definitely sits up there as one of the better comic book films and is streets ahead of the other offerings in the recent DC Universe.
War for the Planet of the Apes
What does it mean to be human?
Certainly the big question posed and from that point of view makes the apes far more human (or at least what we’d aspire to being human to mean) than the humans they’re “at war with”. Some interesting philosophy thrown in along with some genuinely moving moments. An enjoyable albeit slightly overlong watch. Definitely the best in the series.
