- Synopsis:
- "It" is a Psammead (voiced by Eddie Izzard), an ancient, ugly and irritable sand fairy the children find one day in a gravel pit. It grants them a wish a day, lasting until sunset. But they soon learn it is very hard to think of really good wishes, and each one gets them into more and more trouble. Magic, the children find, can be as awkward as it is enticing.

This classic story is given the Hollywood treatment - meaning it hardly resembles the book and ends up all sugary and Disneyfied. Even the dialogue seems to have been especially written for the Yanks in places.
I loathe Eddie Izzard - but he does an admirable job of providing the voice of the Psammead (which is a little too CGI for my taste).
In short, this will keep the kids quiet for an hour and a half, but the original book is preferable.
