Formed in 1977 by singer Nick Cash (ex-Kilburn and the High Roads with Ian Dury), 999 quickly established themselves as one of the most exciting and popular bands on the British live music circuit. their first single, 'I'm Alive, was released later for the same year and sold all 10,000 copies in just a few weeks. this lead to the group being signed to United Artists, and their second single 'Nasty Nasty' was also a huge success. With yet another hit single under their belt, 'Emergency', they recorded and released their self-named LP, which proved a hit with both fans and critics.
