Synopsis:
Benjamin is a nobody, an outsider, but this changes when he meets the charismatic Max. The two of them couldn't be more different, but they share one mutual interest: hacking. Together with Max's friends, they form the subversive hacker group CLAY (Clowns Laughing At You). For the first time in his life Benjamin feels like he belongs and even the beautiful Marie starts to notice him. But what started out as fun soon turns deadly serious, when Benjamin and CLAY are suddenly investigated by German Secret Service and Europol. With the leading Europol cybercrime investigator at their heels, Benjamin starts to realize that he is no longer a nobody, but one of the most wanted hackers of the world.

Best Hacker Film Ever? - Who Am I review by CP Customer

Spoiler Alert
25/12/2017

The writer and producer avoid the usual Hollywood errors: juvenile use of networking terms that make most IT geeks cringe for them. Okay - so there is glorified use of graphics to energise some hacks but the film quite rightly focuses on the most common route of hacking - human beings: discarded paper in trash and plain old blagging of the security guard is half the battle. This is the truth.

The director's use of an imaginary train with masked passengers symbolising the online presence of other hackers is genius. Several twists towards the end keep you guessing. The love interest element is an unwelcome distraction at times, however doesn't reduce the impact of this great film.
