A Lesson with Odetta (2011)

Legendary folk and blues performer Odetta Holmes shares some of the musical tricks and techniques she acquired through her long career. From the early 1950's to her death in 2008, Odetta was a star of American folk music and was acknowledged as a major influence by Bob Dylan, among others. This programme offers viewers the opportunity to learn the guitar and vocal styles which defined her career as she performs such classic songs as 'Motherless Child', 'Lay My Burden Down' and 'True Believer'.
