Rent A Year to Remember: 1952 (1952)

This was a year characterised by conflict and technology. Britain joined the ranks of the nuclear weapons powers, the H-Bomb was tested by the United States, the Korean War continued claiming lives, and King Farouk was removed from power in an Egyptian coup. For many in Britain, though, the most significant event was the death of the King, George VI. The nation mourned as the world witnessed the pomp and subdued ceremony of the state funeral. But there was better news for us elsewhere, with the beginnings of a long economic boom that would last until the mid-seventies.
