Synopsis:
Looking at Calderdale from the Calderdale Way Footpath 1:
The trail winds uphill and down dale tracing historic routes high on the valley sides between West Vale and Heptonstall including a tour of this historic village. Local historians give insights into the lives of people who have shaped the area such as the Fieldens, the Hinchliffes and Sam Hill. Stoodley Pike is visited as well as the interesting venues of the Scarecrow Festival at Norland, the beautiful village of Mill Bank, Ripponden, Cragg Vale and Todmorden. There is an expert display of dry stone walling and exciting helicopter footage gives unique views of the valley.

The interesting Churn Milk Joan on Midgley Moor and Jerusalem Farm in the Luddenden Dean Valley are visited before Holdsworth House at Holmfield and The Old White Beare Inn in picturesque Norwood Green are discovered. The market town of Brighouse and an insight into water Skiing at Cromwell Bottom Lake along with helicopter footage gives unique views of the valley
