Synopsis:
Anita's (Anjela Lauren Smith) got style, energy and attitude - her ambition is to become the local dancehall diva. Before she can triumph with her 'rude girl' friends deejaying her lyrics on stage, she has to prove herself - and she has some growing up to do along the way. Bringing up two kids on a tough estate is no easy matter, nor are her relationships with her mother, sister, and her babyfather Byron (Wil Johnson) - a singer with his own ambitions. Featuring music by Beres Hammond, Carroll Thompson and Cinderella this 90's gem stars familiar faces from stage and screen including Corinne Skinner-Carter as Anita's mum and Don Warrington as ruthless promoter Luther.
