Tired of the urban jungle of New York, single Dad David Thompson (Chris Noth) decides to take his family away from all the mayhem. Dragging his protesting children Rand (Jonathan Brandis) and Jena (Lea Moreno), the Thompsons set off find a new way of life in Africa. There they befriend an orphaned lion cub which is soon to be sent to life in captivity, unless they can save him first. The family, along with the friends they make, must find a way to assimilate the lion back into the wild where it was always meant to live.
