A decent supernatural thriller. - Case 39 review by CP Customer

This is a fairly decent supernatural thriller which is very similar in tone to films like 'Omen', 'Orphan' and the 1972 film 'The Other'. It's an enjoyable film, not that scary and a solid rental. That said, if you've not seen the 2009 film 'Orphan' I would rent that first, it's a much better movie with a clever storyline and a far, far meaner little girl!

If there is a sequel will it be case 40? - Case 39 review by CP Customer

I liked it. At times I was fearful for Renee (Emily) and it did keep me in supense. It certainly makes you think - how would I overcome such a situation? - and realise that maybe there are things we cannot understand. If you like supernatural thrillers then watch it!

Renee does Horror - Case 39 review by JD

Spoiler Alert

This is a pretty straightforward horror film. Some average acting by McShane and Zellweger, but an impressive performance by the girl Cooper. Like most horror the point is not a plot that hangs together, but the shock factor. For shock this is pretty good. The producers have so clearly left scope for a Case 39 part 2 that it made the end a bit inconclusive.
