Synopsis:
With a sound and style that uniquely combined his diverse musical influences and blurred and challenged the social barriers of the time, he ushered in a whole new era of American music and popular culture. This programme follows Elvis' life from his humble upbringing in Mississippi to buying his first guitar at the age of 11, to his amazing last show in Indianapolis in the summer of 1977 through to his tragic death only 2 months later in Graceland on 16th August 1977 aged 42. Elvis revolutionised pop music and youth culture as we know it today, his unique moves and live performances are legendary and his style has inspired many Artists even today.
