Synopsis:
For the first time this spectacular championship joins Duke's line-up of annual reviews, with action-packed, extensive coverage of every round. The five races are the ultimate tests of endurance, pushing rider, machine and team to breaking point and often beyond. Unlike other championships, these races are not short blasts where speed is the only factor with a mix of eight and 24-hour events, strategy, reliability, fitness, smooth pit work and, often, luck are all part of what it takes to win. The series includes the most famous endurance races, including the 24-hour Bol d Or, Japan s Suzuka 8 Hour and the Le Mans 24 Hours, alongside newer eight-hour events at Albacete and Doha in Qatar.
All the major manufacturers are represented, and the line-up of world-class riders is stunning as the likes of Yukio Kagayama, Julien de Costa, Ryuichi Kiyonari and Olivier Four takes turns on track. The battle between the BMW Motorrad France 99 team and Suzuki's Endurance Racing Team was absorbing, while the legendary Yoshimura Suzuki Racing Team and all-new Honda TT Legends, featuring John McGuinness, Steve Plater and Keith Amor, provided plenty of scintillating entertainment. This thorough review brings you the action, drama and fascinating strategy of the Endurance World Championship
