- Against her instincts, a woman, Saiva rescues a wounded stranger from the ice and nurses him back to health with the help of the young Anja and stunning. The two women compete for the man’s affection , only to become embroiled in a heated love triangle. Shot with precision under treacherous conditions, the film shows the universal longing for love and connection, amid the hardships of arctic life.

If you love the Arctic, you'll love this - Far North review by SE
Filmed against all odds (weather, polar bears) in remote Svalbard, this has the atmosphere of a grisly fable, with a gruesome and heart-rending ending. It was inspired by the compelling short story of the same name by Sara Maitland. All three actors are superb and it really brings home the loneliness of living in the Arctic waste. Some great shots of Svalbard's extraordinary scenery too. This film seems to have disappeared without trace, which is a pity... it is unusual and intriguing.

For Bean fans only - Far North review by JD
A very, very slow moving plot, I suppose was intentionally to give the atmosphere of loneliness. It is however also quite disjointed and never comes to a point or even close to a plot. There are huge incontinuities the most awesome is that she is saving a baby in one scene carrying it across the tundra but it is never seen again. Sean Bean acts well and it is this together with the well portrayed bleakness that saves this from a 1 star.
