Henrik Freischlader is a German blues guitarist, singer, songwriter, producer, and autodidactic multi-instrumentalist from Wuppertal, Germany. He was born in Cologne and started as a drummer but when he was fourteen he heard Cold Day in Hell on the radio. He was totally inspired by Gary Moore, and made the guitar his main instrument. He started his career in small venues for little payment but gained many faithful fans. Through his gig as opening act for Joe Bonamassa in 2006, Henrik gained access to a much wider audience. Joe Bonamassa says I love the man and I hate the man. Why do I love him? cause he s a brilliant young guitar player. Why do I hate him? cause he makes me work very hard every night! Joe features on the first track on Henrik s album Still Frame Replay . Over the past few years, Henrik opened up for B.B. King, Gary Moore, Peter Green, and Johnny Winter. His gigs in Germany are sold out and the interest in his music is growing in the rest of Europe. He was nominated for a British Blues Award which is a rare honour for a German blues musician.
