Over the course of a midsummer night in Fermanagh in 1890, an unsettled daughter of the Anglo-Irish aristocracy encourages her father's valet to seduce her. A sultry summer night in the eighties of the nineteenth century. On an Irish estate is the count on vacation and celebrating its staff party in the stables. Between Julie (Jessica Chastain / Nora McMenamy), the daughter of the count, and John (Colin Farrell), his servant, the tension slowly. They dance and drink, seduce and manipulate each other. It is a game of attraction and rejection, sometimes coarse, sometimes tenderly. Although a common future seems impossible by the class differences, growing their desire.
