- Synopsis:
The entire second series of the succesful comedy show which centres around two very different couples and a local village cricket team. It stars some of the most popular TV comedy personalities (Timothy Spall, Josie Lawrence, Brenda Blethwyn and Robert Daws), and is based on a stage play by former hell-raising actor Richard Harris.
1. The Blister
Roger Dervish is back, as usual patching up his team and now patching up his marriage...
2. Discretion
A needle match! Ball tampering? Rule bending? Ungentlemanly behaviour? It's not cricket! Or is it...Dervish and Co are back at the crease.
3. IllnessIt's Saturday and Roger is beside himself with worry - Mim is ill but who shall make the team teas?
4. The Death of Fred
After an untimely occurrence which upsets all the team, Roger starts to re-evaluate his life.
5. The Barbeque
Some unlikely liaisons are formed at the Brent Park Bar-B-Q, raising not only some questions but some eyebrows as well.
6. Rain Stopped Play
It's Roger's nightmare - not only does rain stop play but he discovers his ability as captain is being questioned by a member of the team. However, together with Mim he plans a counter-attack.
7. The Club Meeting
Can Roger's captaincy survive the E.G.M.? Opinions fly and the vote is cast but Shirley provides an unexpected diversion.- Actors:
